Outside Sales — Restoration Specialist

Overview

We install and supply flooring and cabinets for property owners, property managers, builders, and restoration contractors after water, fire, smoke, and remodel events. This is a hunter/outside-sales job. You will maintain and grow current accounts as well as open new accounts. You walk damaged or vacant units, specify the right floor and cabinet package based on scope and budget, write the estimate, and close the work — then stay on the account so we get the next turn, the next claim, and the next building.

This is not a showroom order-taker role. Most of the week is in the field: insurance and restoration offices, property-management shops, job sites, and contractor yards.

What you will sell

• Flooring replacement and install: LVP/LVT, carpet, tile, hardwood, and related moisture-ready products
• Kitchen and bath cabinets, vanities, and countertops — repair, refinish, or full replace after a loss or rehab
• Speed and documentation that restoration GCs, adjusters, and PMs actually need

Who you will call on

• Restoration and mitigation companies (water, fire, mold) that subcontract finishes
• Insurance agents, independent adjusters, and TPA / program administrators

Responsibilities

• Prospect daily. Build and work a route. Cold call, drop in, follow-up with leads
• Walk the job. Measure, photograph, and specify flooring and cabinets that match the loss, the budget, and the schedule.
• Communicate clearly. Build trust and open dialogue with Superintendents and PMs
• Estimate and close. Write clear quotes, defend scope, and get a signed work authorization without hiding behind the office.
• Own the handoff. Coordinate with operations, purchasing, and install so the promise you made in the field is the job that gets built.
• Stay on the account. After-action follow-up with the PM, GC, and adjuster so we become the automatic call on the next loss.
• Report the pipeline. Keep CRM current: calls, meetings, quotes, closes, and next actions. Weekly numbers, not stories.
• Represent the brand. Professional on site, honest on scope, fast on callbacks. Restoration work is won on trust and speed.

What a strong candidate looks like

• 3 years outside B2B sales — construction, building materials, flooring, cabinets, restoration, insurance, or property services
• Has sold a physical product or trade that required a job-site visit, a measurement, and a written estimate
• Comfortable talking to adjusters, PMs, and restoration PMs without being coached on every call
• Hunter, not farmer: evidence of opening accounts, not only working inbound leads
• Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and willingness to live in the territory
• Able to work a flexible schedule when a loss or a vacant unit needs a same-week walk

Nice to have: flooring and cabinet product knowledge, ITEL/Xactimate familiarity, bilingual English/Spanish, existing book of PM or restoration contacts.

What this job is not

• Not retail floor time as the primary job
• Not a desk job writing estimates that someone else sold
• Not door-to-door storm canvassing
