Temporary Patient Services Representative (6 Openings)
Pay: $20.00–$23.00/hour
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours/week (8:00 am – 4:30 pm or 8:30 am – 5:00 pm)
Duration: Approximately 2 weeks
Location: Portland, Maine
Start Date: Tentative start around 12/8
Position Overview
This short-term role supports an in-office pharmacy team in a healthcare setting. The Patient Services Representative (PSR) serves as the first point of contact for patients, answering incoming calls, gathering information, and helping ensure prescriptions are processed smoothly. This position is ideal for individuals with strong customer service skills who are comfortable in a fast-paced, phone-based environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Answer incoming patient and customer calls with professionalism and accuracy.
- Gather and enter patient information, ensuring details are complete and correct.
- Coordinate with onsite pharmacy staff to support prescription processing.
- Provide clear, friendly communication to ensure a positive patient experience.
- Assist with administrative tasks and follow up on assigned work as needed.
Required Experience & Education
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2 years of customer service and/or administrative experience.
- Experience in a call center, healthcare, pharmacy, billing, or insurance environment is helpful.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong communication and telephone etiquette.
- Ability to work independently and handle challenging conversations professionally.
- Solid computer skills (data entry, basic Windows applications).
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
- Good organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Comfortable working with a wide range of customers.
