About the Role
As the Development Officer, you’ll design and lead Maine Golf’s fundraising strategy, including annual giving, donor relations, corporate partnerships, community campaigns, and special events. You’ll work closely with the Executive Director and Board to build a strong philanthropic foundation supporting scholarships, youth access, and community programming.
This newly created role is ideal for a relationship-driven fundraiser who enjoys building programs, engaging donors, and creating meaningful community impact.
What You’ll Do
- Build and manage a comprehensive Annual Giving Program
- Cultivate and steward individual, corporate, and foundation donors
- Lead campaigns: Annual Giving, Giving Tuesday, event sponsorships, grassroots club events, and golf marathons
- Plan signature fundraising events and donor engagement experiences
- Launch and grow the Ambassador’s Club giving society
- Manage donor data and reporting (DonorPerfect)
- Collaborate on fundraising communications and digital outreach
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree
- 3 years in nonprofit fundraising (annual giving, donor relations, corporate/foundation support, or events)
- Proven success meeting fundraising goals
- Strong communication, stewardship, and relationship-building skills
- Experience with DonorPerfect or similar CRM
- Interest in golf or familiarity with Maine’s nonprofit community is a plus
Work Environment
- Hybrid role based in Freeport, ME
- Statewide travel for donor meetings and events
- Occasional evenings/weekends
