Position: ControllerLocation: Sonoma County, CA (on-site)Employment Type: Full-TimeAbout the OpportunityA well-established manufacturing organization in Sonoma County is seeking an experienced Controller to lead its Finance function. This position reports directly to the General Manager and will oversee all financial operations, including accounting, reporting, budgeting, and compliance. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with a strong background in manufacturing finance, exceptional analytical skills, and a passion for driving operational excellence through financial insight.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage all aspects of the finance department, including general accounting, accounts payable/receivable, cash management, and financial reporting.Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, forecasts, and variance analyses.Develop, implement, and maintain financial policies, systems, and internal controls to ensure accuracy and compliance.Manage the company’s budgeting process and provide strategic financial guidance to support business decisions.Supervise and mentor finance team members, providing leadership, direction, and professional development.Oversee payroll processing, capital asset management, and contract administration.Partner with internal and external auditors to support audit activities and ensure a smooth audit process.Review and analyze product costing, job pricing, and profitability metrics to support business strategy.Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable tax and regulatory requirements.Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior leadership regarding capital investments, pricing strategies, and cost management initiatives.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or Master’s a plus, but not required.Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, ideally within a manufacturing environment.Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting standards.Proven leadership experience managing accounting or finance teams.Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software.Exceptional communication, organizational, and analytical skills.Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
