GENERAL MANAGER – PROSE KITCHEN & BAR
Location: Woodland Hills, CA
Prose Kitchen & Bar is a chef-driven, upscale casual restaurant in Woodland Hills focused on seasonal cooking, warm hospitality, and professional, well-run operations. We’re seeking an experienced General Manager to lead day-to-day operations, drive revenue, and grow with us as the business continues to build.
RESPONSIBILITIESLeadership & Operations

Lead and manage all FOH operations and daily service

Hire, train, schedule, and develop FOH staff; build and organize a strong, accountable team

Maintain high standards for service, cleanliness, organization, and overall guest experience

Run the floor: manage reservations, pacing, table touches, and real-time problem-solving

Maintain and enforce systems: checklists, side work, pre-shifts, opening/closing routines, and follow-through
Sales & Revenue Growth

Actively drive sales: increase check averages, wine sales, and add-on opportunities

Coach the team on where and how to sell: wine, events, large parties, and private dining

Help build and execute strategies to grow revenue (events, partnerships, outreach) in collaboration with ownership

Monitor and manage key metrics: sales, covers, labor, comps/voids, and weekly performance reports
Community & Outreach

Lead community outreach and local relationship-building

Identify and engage nearby businesses (medical offices, law firms, accounting firms, corporate offices, etc.) to drive events, catering, and group dining

Organize and support the team in external outreach efforts to promote the restaurant and its offerings
Bar & Beverage

Maintain high standards for the bar and beverage program: product quality, service, and cleanliness

Oversee beer and wine ordering, inventory, and pars in coordination with bar leadership and ownership

Train and support the team to confidently describe and sell the beverage program, especially bottles of wine

3 years FOH management experience (GM or strong AGM) in a full-service restaurant

Strong floor presence with a calm, professional, hands-on demeanor

Proven ability to lead, coach, and hold a team accountable while maintaining a positive, respectful culture

Experience driving sales: check average, wine, events, and private dining

Comfortable with labor management, inventories, and basic financial reporting

Highly organized, detail-oriented, and consistent with systems and follow-through

Reliable, solutions-focused, and interested in long-term growth with an expanding brand

Base salary: $80,000–$95,000 DOE

Performance-based bonus; target total compensation $90,000–$115,000 annually
