Senior QA Engineer

We are seeking a Senior QA Engineer to join our team and ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of our SaaS platform. This role requires expertise in manual and automated testing, strong analytical skills, and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving software issues.

The Senior QA Engineer will play a critical role in defining, implementing, and maintaining test strategies that ensure the delivery of high-quality software. This individual will collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and DevOps teams to establish best practices and enhance test automation frameworks. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of test automation, API testing, performance testing, and CI/CD processes.

Key Responsibilities

Test Strategy & Execution:

• Develop, document, and implement comprehensive test plans and test cases for web-based SaaS applications.
• Perform manual and automated testing to validate software functionality, performance, security, and usability.
• Ensure test coverage across UI, API, database, and end-to-end workflows.
  
  

Test Automation & Tools:

• Design and maintain test automation frameworks using Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.
• Develop automated tests for regression, performance, and load testing.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or AWS CodePipeline).
  
  

Bug Tracking & Reporting:

• Identify, document, and track defects in JIRA, TestRail, or similar tools.
• Work closely with developers to troubleshoot and resolve issues effectively.
• Provide detailed reports on test progress, defects, and software quality metrics.
  
  

Performance & Security Testing:

• Conduct load, stress, and scalability testing to ensure system reliability.
• Work with security teams to implement vulnerability assessments and security best practices.
  
  

Collaboration & Process Improvement:

• Advocate for shift-left testing and integrate quality practices early in the development cycle.
• Define and improve QA best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Mentor junior QA engineers and contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives.
  
  

Qualifications & Experience

Experience:

• 5 years of experience in software quality assurance, with a focus on test automation.
• Hands-on experience with Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or other test automation tools.
• Strong expertise in testing RESTful APIs using tools like Postman, RestAssured, or SoapUI.
• Experience with performance testing tools like JMeter, Locust, or Gatling.
• Knowledge of database testing (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Familiarity with Agile development and Scrum/Kanban methodologies.
  
  

Skills:

• Strong understanding of test automation frameworks and scripting languages (Python, Java, JavaScript, or TypeScript).
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
  
  

Certifications (Preferred):

• ISTQB Certified Tester – Advanced Level, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, or equivalent certifications - Preferred
  
  

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
