What are the responsibilities and job description for the Buyer position at ProRack Gas Products?
We are looking for an ambitious Full Time Buyer responsible for effectively managing and planning the purchase of materials to support operational requirements. The buyer will work collaboratively with all internal departments to understand procurement needs. This includes but is not limited to raw materials, hardware, tooling, machined parts, office and shipping supplies.
The Buyer will report to the General Manager and be located at our production facility Santa Ana, CA. The position will require a close working relationship with the Operations team, the Manufacturing Engineer, the Sales and Customer Service department and the Finance Department. This position requires the understanding of internal processes, computer systems and general business activities.
Essential Duties / Responsibilities
- Responsibilities include:
- Preparation of RFQ's, evaluating quotes, selecting suppliers, creating purchase orders and the administration of all open purchase orders.
- Work with freight forwarders to ensure that deliveries are made in the most efficient way possible.
- Monitor and manage supplier relationships including reporting and resolution of KPI issues.
- Work with accounting on any product cost updates
- Review MRP daily reports
- Set product forecasts within ERP system through the use of sales forecasts and historical trends
Requirements
- 1-3 years of relative purchasing admin experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business Admin / Operations Management
- APICS certification preferred
- Proficient in MS Office, including Excel lookups & pivot tables
- Experience with ERP Systems, preferably SYSPRO ERP System
- Excellent communication skills (verbal & written)
- English is required
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
