Propulsion Controls Engineering has a current opening for a Marine Electrician Superintendent, with a minimum 10 years experience within the marine and/or shipyard industry; supporting our San Diego, CA location.
Job Summary:
A Marine Electrician Superintendent is responsible for the Electrical production team ensuring adherence to schedules, departmental efficiency, and enhancements to product quality.
Essential Functions:
- Effectively manages assigned personnel (including two or more Supervisors), providing the leadership, training and mentoring necessary to enhance repair reliability, capability, and efficiency within his/her department.
- Attends production and progress meetings as required with customer(s), providing accurate, up-to-date, and knowledgeable work status in a clear and concise manner.
- Accurately tracks budgetary impacts, including material stock ordering and allocation of assigned personnel.
- Schedules and/or serves as departmental representative during necessary QA check points.
- Possesses the ability to accurately write Condition Found Reports, detailing results of inspections, tests, noted discrepancies, and recommendations as necessary to facilitate repairs and/or system or component restoration to proper operations condition.
- Able to effectively read and comprehend work specifications, technical manuals and standards and drawings.
- Accomplishes necessary reporting process, such as schedule and Test and Inspection Plan (T.I.P) updates.
- Accurately interprets and preforms work in accordance with designated Process Control Procedure(s) (PCP).
- Conducts interviews, performance reviews, and discipline of assigned personnel in compliance with established company guidance.
- Expert-level understanding and ability to ready blue prints, drawings, sketches, and technical manuals.
- Subject Matter Expert (SME) on all trade specific repairs for specific components of shipboard systems.
- Expert level troubleshooting of shipboard systems and equipment for proper operation.
- Other duties as may be assigned.
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
Education:
- High School or equivalent level preferred.
Experience and Knowledge:
- Minimum 10 years experience within the marine and/or shipyard industry.
- Expert level of knowledge on all trade specific repair procedures
- Demonstrated positions of management and conflict resolution.
- Demonstrates familiarity with NAVSEA Standard Item and OSHA Standards.
- Possess general computer skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
