Onsite American Sign Language Interpreter

This is a full-time Onsite American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter role based in Hartford, CT. The interpreter will facilitate effective communication by providing accurate and culturally appropriate ASL interpretation for a variety of settings, including but not limited to healthcare, education, and legal environments. Duties will include interpreting between ASL and spoken English in person, adapting to diverse communication needs, and maintaining professionalism while adhering to ethical and confidentiality standards. The interpreter will also need to ensure a neutral and impartial approach during all assignments.

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and spoken English with excellent interpretation skills
• Strong understanding of deaf culture and the ability to facilitate seamless communication in diverse environments
• Certification in ASL interpretation (such as RID or NAD certification) is preferred
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with diverse populations
• Flexibility and adaptability to work in various settings, such as healthcare, education, and legal environments
• Availability for a full-time, on-site position in Hartford, CT
• Experience with remote or virtual interpreting using technology is a plus
