What are the responsibilities and job description for the Account Executive position at Property Atlas?
Location: Bay Area, CA (remote-first — role requires being based in the Bay Area to attend client events, lunches, and sponsored expos/tables)
Type: Full-time
About Property Atlas
Property Atlas provides automated alerts to property owners/managers for building permits, inspections, violations, complaints, and city/state mandated compliance program so nothing falls through the cracks. Instead of logging into a dozen different city portals, our customers get everything in one clean, easy-to-use dashboard, with alerts the moment something changes on a property they own or manage. Not only does our tool appeal to property owners/managers, but we also have market potential with contractors, engineers, and other members of the real-estate industry.
We're a fast-moving, founder-led SaaS company, and we're looking for someone who wants to have real ownership over how we grow including how we shape the tool to suit the industry.
The Role
We're hiring an Account Executive to own the full sales cycle — from first conversation to signed customer — and help bring Property Atlas to more property owners, managers, and real estate operators. This is a high-visibility role with a lot of room to shape how we sell, not just execute a playbook someone else wrote.
The role is predominantly remote day-to-day, but you'll need to be based in the Bay Area: a meaningful part of the job is showing up in person — industry lunches, sponsored tables, and expos — to build relationships face-to-face. The next year includes planned growth throughout California, so some travel in 2027 may be required.
What You'll Do
- Own the full sales cycle: prospect, qualify, demo, negotiate, and close new business
- Build and manage a healthy pipeline of property managers, owners, contractors, and real estate operators
- Represent Property Atlas in person at Bay Area industry events, sponsored tables, and expos
- Work closely with leadership to sharpen messaging, pricing conversations, and sales process as we scale
- Bring customer and market feedback back to the team to help shape the product roadmap
- Consistently hit and exceed sales targets
What We're Looking For; Qualifications
- Based in the Bay Area
- Proven experience selling SaaS or software, with a track record of hitting quota
- A genuine self-starter — someone who's comfortable with ambiguity and wants to help build the sales process, not just follow one
- Strong communicator and relationship-builder, equally comfortable on a video call or working a room at an expo
- Proactive problem-solving, negotiation, and objection-handling skills that support long-term client partnerships.
- Experience using CRM systems (Hubspot) and sales productivity tools, with solid organizational and follow-up abilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Nice to have: experience selling into real estate, property management, or prop-tech (familiarity with platforms like AppFolio or Yardi is a plus) Startup experience is also a plus.
- Nice to have: Familiarity with real estate, property management, or related industries, and comfort discussing permits, inspections, and compliance topics.
Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary: $60K to start; increase after fundraising
- On-target earnings (OTE): $130K – $170K, uncapped commission
