Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accounting Assistant to support our residential property management accounting operations. This part-time role is ideal for someone with strong organizational skills and a background in accounting or bookkeeping.
Key Responsibilities:
· Post rent payments, late fees, and other tenant charges into property management software and tenant ledgers
· Apply payments accurately to tenant accounts and investigate/apply unapplied or partial payments
· Assist with issuing receipts and responding to tenant payment inquiries
· Process accounts payable, including entering vendor invoices, coding expenses to properties, and preparing payments
· Assist with monthly close
· Maintain accurate records for security deposits, including tracking, refunds, and compliance with regulations
· Prepare and update owner statements and financial reports
· Coordinate with property managers regarding tenant balances, move-ins/move-outs, security deposit dispositions, and billing issues
· Assist with utility bill tracking and allocations (if applicable)
· Perform data entry and general administrative accounting support
· Reconcile and resolve outstanding or uncleared check transactions
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or similar role
- Experience in property management accounting is a plus
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, AppFolio)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Schedule & Compensation:
- Part-time (20 Hours per week)
- Flexible schedule
- Compensation: DOE Between $24.00-$28.00 per hour.
