Role Description:
The Business Banking Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Ridley Park, PA. This role serves as a primary relationship manager to the credit union’s small business and commercial clients. This position will also be the primary point of contact for new and prospective business members with a focus on relationship expansion efforts. Situated in one of the credit union’s financial center offices, the Business Banking Specialist will be a “front line” resource for business members. This position will strive to gain a trusted financial advisor status with all individuals and business membership as well as their spheres of influence. A growth in credit union membership is a primary goal via relationship building, word of mouth marketing, referrals and cross-selling opportunities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Be a Propell CU Brand Champion by properly representing Propell in the community via multiple communication channels (on-line, email, telephone, one-on-one interaction, public events, etc.).
- Execute the account opening process and administration of new business member orientation.
- Serve as the primary relationship manager for business banking membership.
- Responsible for adhering to operational controls, including compliance with all required regulations and policies such as the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) to ensure the safety and soundness of the Credit Union and its members.
- Represent the Credit Union in various community events and participate in sponsorship activities designed to further enhance credit union awareness.
- Additional duties as assigned in support of credit union goals and objectives.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Must possess strong sales and business development skills.
- Minimum 2-3 years of related bank/credit union experience.
- Knowledge of small business/business banking lending and credit processes.
- High quality written/oral communication.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Strong interpersonal skills addressing a diverse membership base.
- Proficiency in MS Office Products and PC usage.
- Bachelor’s degree (BA); or five (5) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Entrepreneurial perspective, analytical and problem-solving skills.
