The Local CDL Class A Driver is responsible for safely transporting freight on local routes while maintaining compliance with DOT and company safety standards. Work Schedule

• Sunday - Thursday
• 1:00 PM – 9:30 PM
• Local routes with daily home time
• Schedule may vary slightly based on operational needs and freight volume

What You’ll Do

• Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles, including tractor-trailers and manual transmission trucks
• Complete local deliveries within a 150-mile radius
• Perform drop & hook and/or load/unload as required
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure DOT and company compliance
• Maintain accurate driver logs, delivery records, and inspection reports
• Communicate effectively with dispatch regarding routes, schedules, and issues
• Follow all DOT regulations, traffic laws, and company safety standards
• Support team operations and assist with training new drivers when needed

What We’re Looking For

• Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record
• FMCSA Clearinghouse registration (required)
• Previous experience in local or route driving preferred
• Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles (preferred)
• Forklift experience is a plus
• Ability to safely lift and handle materials during loading/unloading
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
• Reliable, punctual, and professional work ethic

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit for extended periods while operating a commercial motor vehicle.
• Ability to enter and exit the truck cab multiple times per shift, including climbing steps and using handholds.
• Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, reach, and lift as required during loading, unloading, and vehicle inspections.
• Capable of lifting and moving materials as needed during loading/unloading activities.
• Requires good manual dexterity and coordination to operate vehicle controls, secure loads, use inspection tools, and handle documentation.
• Ability to hear and understand verbal instructions, traffic sounds, radios, and safety alerts in varying noise conditions.
• Excellent vision (including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus) to safely operate a commercial vehicle, read road signs, inspect equipment, and complete required documentation.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will primarily work in a transportation and warehouse environment. This may include operating vehicles on public roadways and working in yard, dock, or warehouse areas. The role may involve exposure to outdoor weather conditions, varying temperatures, traffic, dust, noise, and moving equipment. Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as high-visibility vests, steel-toed footwear, and other safety gear may be required depending on location and task.
