Proof of the Pudding (POP) is proud to provide the food and beverage services at the Georgia International Convention Center. POP offers fine-quality concessions and catering for meetings, exhibition hall booths, conventions, and special events. Georgia International Convention Center includes a 9,800 square foot state-of-the- art culinary arts center and Georgia’s largest ballroom at 40,000 square ft.

We are seeking a Lead Cook to join our team. This position will be integral to the back of house by providing culinary support and be a front-of-house presence during service times for the client.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day culinary operations
  • Coordinate food and kitchenware orders
  • Assisting in the preparation of food & beverage areas including handling a smoothie station, action station, restocking coffee station & snack stations.
  • Check freshness and quality of ingredients
  • Assist in the development of menu items
  • Cleaning guest areas, bussing tables, wiping surfaces.
  • Assisting with clean up of dishes, organizing prep area, and other tasks provided by the area manager.
  • Work with management to create a memorable experience for guests

Performs other related duties as needed

Qualifications:

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in culinary arts, cooking, or other related fields
  • Flexible Availability for Scheduling
  • Must live near or be willing to commute to College Park, GA

Work Environment 

This position will report to and work from the Georgia International Convention Center. This position will require standing, lifting, and moving products, equipment, and food items. Food Service will consist of a hospitable and social atmosphere with food, beverage, and A customer service.

Physical Demands:

  • Prolonged periods of standing and moving through a kitchen and food service area
  • Bending, lifting, scooping, and carrying miscellaneous equipment and food items
  • Ability to perform physical tasks; such as but not limited to, lifting approx. 30 lbs.

Position Salary & Benefits:

  • Starting rate is $23/hour
  • Benefits include daily meals per shift
