Responsibilities

• Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, including recording vital signs, medical histories, and updating electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems).
• Prepare examination rooms with necessary supplies and ensure cleanliness and organization for each patient visit.
• Perform clinical procedures such as phlebotomy (blood draws), medication administration, and basic life support (BLS) when needed.
• Support patient care by explaining procedures, answering questions, and providing compassionate service throughout their visit.
• Manage medical documentation accurately, including ICD coding, medical records management, and detailed note-taking for EMR/EHR systems.
• Facilitate laboratory tasks such as specimen collection and processing while maintaining strict adherence to safety protocols.
• Coordinate appointment scheduling, patient check-in/out processes, and assist with administrative duties like insurance verification and billing support.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar outpatient or hospital setting with knowledge of medical terminology and physiology.
• Hands-on experience with EHR/EMR systems, medical documentation, and medical office management.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalent is required; additional certifications such as phlebotomy or medication administration are a plus.
• Familiarity with dermatology procedures, urgent care protocols, hospital medicine practices and outpatient clinic operations.
• Strong understanding of anatomy, pharmacology, ICD coding, and medical-surgical procedures relevant to diverse specialties.
• Excellent patient service skills with the ability to handle fast-paced environments while maintaining professionalism and empathy.
• Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams in hospital or outpatient settings with hospital experience preferred.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10.0 – 40.0 per week
