Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for a Project Controls Engineer / Construction Scheduler based in the Cedar Rapids, IA, offering a combination of on-site work and remote flexibility. Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining project schedules, performing cost control and cost management activities, conducting schedule assessments and progress reporting, and analyzing project data to support management decisions. The professional will collaborate closely with the project team, provide insights to ensure timely project delivery, and address challenges as they arise.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and update CPM construction schedules using Primavera P6
- Prepare baseline schedules, periodic updates, and recovery schedules
- Perform critical path, float, and logic analysis
- Prepare schedule narratives and progress reports
- Coordinate with construction teams, subcontractors, and project management
- Identify schedule risks and mitigation strategies
- Support change management and Time Impact Analyses (TIAs) as required
- Ensure schedule compliance with contract requirements and best practices
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
- 3 years of experience in construction scheduling and project controls
- Proficiency in Primavera P6
- Experience supporting energy, power, heavy civil, or industrial projects
- Ability to work effectively in an onsite construction environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP, PMI-SP, or PSP certification
- Experience with cost-loaded schedules and earned value management
- Experience supporting schedule recovery, TIAs, or claims analysis
Salary Range: $100,000 - $150,000 Annually
