Summary
The Konica Minolta KM-1 is a digital full color LED UV Inkjet press that produces outstanding print output at speeds much faster than offset or aqueous inkjet machines. The KM-1 Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring the press while maintaining its output quality within given specifications and meeting required production volumes.
Job Duties
- Setup, program, and release of jobs from the print queue in accordance with ProList’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Carefully follow print workorders, RIP files and prepare jobs for printing.
- Adjust image position and monitor job quality for color, imposition correctness and overall print quality.
- Maintain daily print job production logs and daily delivery manifests.
- Order supplies as needed and maintain ink and paper inventory levels.
- Troubleshoot and perform machine repairs that are proper to the KM-1 Operator role, including preventative and scheduled maintenance.
- Flag and process any spoiled production in accordance with SOP.
- Notify the Supervisor and Customer Service of any potential or actual job shortages, or potential issues with a project’s quality, cost, or delivery schedule.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and hazard-free work area by following all housekeeping SOP.
- Assist in the training and cross-training of new and less experienced operators.
- Clock-in and clock-out at the right times. Be punctual. Have good attendance. Request leave with adequate notice. Communicate clearly about any concerns. Avoid uncertainty about your availability.
- Other functions as necessary, including assisting other shop personnel with various duties or expediting orders to meet production schedules.
Job Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED is required, with some work experience.
- Prior experience operating print equipment.
- Ability to set up, operate, and perform basic adjustments to the press, requiring knowledge of standard set up and operating procedures for either offset or cut sheet digital presses.
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft office, Print imposition software, and Pantone color matching.
- Capable of reading and understanding job ticket instructions.
- Capable of setting up, monitoring, operating, troubleshooting, and performing basic maintenance of the DM-1.
- Problem solving and initiative.

- Basic math skills, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, calculating proportions, percentages.

Work Hours
Shifts (6.00am-2.30pm, 3.00pm-11.30pm). Applicants may choose either Early or Late shift, subject to availability. A shift differential applies to the hours worked on the Late shift.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
