Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Travel Telemetry Registered Nurse to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this role, you will provide specialized nursing care to patients with cardiac monitoring needs across various healthcare settings, including hospitals, outpatient clinics, and community health environments. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge of telemetry procedures, advanced patient assessment skills, and the ability to adapt quickly to diverse clinical situations. Responsibilities

  • Continuously monitor patients' cardiac rhythms using telemetry equipment, promptly identifying abnormal patterns and responding according to established protocols.
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and review of medical histories.
  • Administer medications and treatments such as IV infusions, sedation, or other interventions related to cardiac care.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to each patient's needs.
  • Document all patient interactions accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Assist with procedures including catheterization, suturing, and ventilator management when necessary.
  • Educate patients and their families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, medication administration, and post-discharge care.
  • Maintain proficiency in aseptic techniques and infection control practices during all patient interactions.
  • Support emergency response efforts by applying critical care skills in trauma or acute situations within Level I or Level II trauma center environments.
  • Participate in ongoing training related to telemetry technology, ICD coding, laboratory procedures, and emerging nursing practices.

Skills

  • Proven experience working with telemetry systems and cardiac monitoring equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
  • Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for accurate documentation.
  • Critical care experience in ICU or emergency medicine settings preferred.
  • Ability to perform IV insertions, venipuncture (phlebotomy), and medication administration confidently.
  • Knowledge of infection control standards and aseptic techniques essential for safe practice.
  • Excellent patient assessment skills combined with the ability to respond swiftly in high-pressure situations.
  • Experience working with diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia care needs.
  • Understanding of Workers' Compensation law as it pertains to occupational health cases.
  • Competence in handling complex cases involving acute pain management, hospice & palliative medicine principles, or trauma medicine.
  • Ability to adapt quickly across multiple healthcare environments such as outpatient clinics, inpatient units, or home care settings.
