Job Summary:
The Truck Driver/Warehouse Associate is responsible for transporting goods from one location to another. Their job duties include loading their vehicles, abiding by traffic laws, interacting with customers, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring safe unloading and delivery at their destination. The Warehouse Associate, is responsible for carrying out the logistics of receiving, processing, storing, and sending inventory according to purchase orders and shipping schedules. Their duties include loading orders onto trucks, organizing incoming stock and putting the appropriate labels on outgoing parcels.
This position is currently 25% Truck Driving and 75% Warehouse Associate responsibilities. This role will transition to 75% Truck Driving and 25% Warehouse Associate responsibilities as work load and abilities progress.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None.
Truck Driving Duties/Responsibilities:
- Class B truck driving
- Communicating and coordinating with logistics team and customers
- Obeying and following applicable traffic laws
- Securing cargo and properly arranging and balancing it within the vehicle
- Maintaining a detailed log of working hours in compliance with state, federal and country regulations
- Ensuring any mechanical issues with the vehicle are corrected before driving
- Planning routes and meeting delivery schedules
- Complying with truck driving rules and regulations
- Reporting defects, accident, and violations
- Performing daily maintenance of truck (refueling, cleaning, etc.)
- Loading and unloading trucks with forklifts and pallet jacks
- Interacting with customers in a professional manner
- Performing Pre and post trip vehicle inspection reports
- Recording delivers
- Verifying loads for accuracy
- Working outside in the yard and warehouse as requested
Warehouse Duties/Responsibilities:
- Pulls and prepares orders for will call and delivery
- Interact with customers and provides unparalleled customer service
- Receiving and Stocking Inventory
- Cut and carry long steel pipes
- Pick, pack, and load materials with forklift
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Must hold and maintain a valid Driver's License.
- Physically capable to carry, push and pull up to 50 lbs.
- Experience working in a distribution environment is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with DOT regulations preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic math and cash handling skills.
- Basic ability to read and use a tape measure.
- Possess excellent communications skills.
- Superior customer service skills.
- Ability to operate equipment safely
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required
- 3-5 years driving experience
- Physical Requirements:
- Able to sit for long hours at a time
- Physically able to lift, carry and move up to 50 lbs.
- Steel toed boots required (all other PPE provided)
