Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to join our team. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting financial operations, maintaining compliance, and driving efficiency of our finance team. This position is open to local candidates and work will be performed onsite at our Englewood, Colorado office.
Duties
- Record and classify daily financial transactions in accordance with GAAP and company policies
- Administer accounts payable and receivable functions, including vendor invoice management, customer billing, and payment application, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Create journal entries to accurately record financial transactions and maintain correct account balances
- Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial data
- Process bi-monthly payroll through QuickBooks Enterprise Payroll, ensuring compliance with tax and labor regulations
- Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements, summaries, and ad-hoc reports to provide management with actionable insights
- Collaborate with the finance team to support audits and financial reviews, ensuring documentation is complete and compliant
- Maintain organized and accessible financial records and documentation for reporting and compliance purposes
- Support Human Resource functions, including employee onboarding, annual benefits enrollment, and performance review coordination
- Contribute to special projects and additional assignments to support overall company operations
Qualifications
- An Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar field is preferred; equivalent professional experience will be considered
- Demonstrated success as a bookkeeper, ideally within a software or technology-driven environment
- Strong command of accounting software platforms (QuickBooks Desktop/Online, Xero, etc.) and advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
- Solid understanding of double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, and general ledger accounting
- Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail in financial record keeping
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting
- Proven ability to handle confidential and sensitive financial information with discretion
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across teams and support company operations
- Flexibility and willingness to assume a variety of responsibilities to support colleagues and deliver excellent service to customers
