What are the responsibilities and job description for the CAE Engineer position at PROLIM Corporation?
We are seeking an experienced CAE HPC System Administrator to support engineering simulation environments by managing HPC clusters, job scheduling systems, and software licensing platforms.
This role will work closely with engineering teams to ensure smooth execution of CAE workloads, optimal system performance, and high availability of critical applications.
Key ResponsibilitiesCAE Application Support
- Install, configure, and maintain CAE tools such as Ansys, LS-DYNA, Nastran, or similar
- Support integration of CAE applications with HPC environments
- Troubleshoot simulation and application performance issues
HPC & Job Scheduling
- Administer and support HPC clusters and workload schedulers (LSF, Slurm, PBS)
- Configure job queues, scheduling policies, and resource allocation
- Monitor job execution, system utilization, and optimize performance
Licensing Administration
- Manage and support software licensing systems (FlexLM, RLM)
- Monitor license usage, availability, and resolve license-related issues
- Ensure compliance and efficient allocation of licenses
Linux System Administration
- Maintain Linux/RHEL-based systems in HPC environments
- Perform system patching, upgrades, and deployments
- Develop scripts (Bash/Shell) for automation and monitoring
Infrastructure & Monitoring
- Support HPC infrastructure including servers, storage, and networking
- Monitor system health, performance, and capacity
- Troubleshoot hardware and system-level issues
- 3 years of experience in HPC, CAE, or Linux system administration
- Hands-on experience with job schedulers (LSF, Slurm, PBS)
- Experience managing licensing tools (FlexLM, RLM)
- Strong Linux administration skills (RHEL preferred)
- Experience supporting CAE applications (Ansys, LS-DYNA, Nastran, etc.)
- Scripting experience (Bash/Shell or similar)
