Proliant Health & Biologicals is seeking an Account Executive to drive revenue growth in our fastest-growing market segment, Therapeutics.
In this role, you will manage and expand existing customer relationships while building new business through a balanced approach to account development and prospecting. Reporting to the Sales Manager for our Therapeutics channel, you will partner cross-functionally to deliver a strong customer experience, from technical consultation through forecasting and strategic account planning.
This position is located on-site in our Ankeny, Iowa location. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, sales, marketing, or related science or
Experience: 2 years in marketing or sales required. Experience in biological sales preferred. Strong business acumen required.
KEY SKILLS:
- Create dollar volume growth as well as product volume growth across therapeutic markets.
- Visit customers on a regular basis 30% travel to provide sales service and technical product consulting on applications, discover and evaluate new application opportunities and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Represent PHB at conferences and tradeshows nationally and at times internationally.
- Evaluate market conditions within the region as well as maintain awareness at the national and international market level, thus analyzing current prospects for business and forecasting future trends.
- Execute account strategies including pipeline management, forecasting and planning.
- Maintain accurate sales activity documentation (call reports, expense reports, etc.) in a timely fashion.
- Acts as a resource for customers by providing related information as well as educating customers about the various applications of PHB products.
- Provide product-related technical information and consultation to customers.
- Attend conferences and seminars to learn about current developments in research and the potential impact on PHB products.
- Regularly review industry updates/trends through trade journals.
- Develop skills through training and seminars to enhance the negotiation and selling process of PHB products.
- All other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:
- Knowledge of market research, sales, and negotiating principles.
- Knowledge of key account strategies/techniques and the ability to analyze business trends and product cycles.
- Ability to effectively communicate with management, research staff, customers, and other business contacts.
- Enthusiastic and passionate about the industries we serve.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills and ability to build relationships.
- Ability to learn, understand and communicate product information of a technical nature to customers and brokers.
- Manage and maintain corporate confidential information as well as customer confidential information such as formulations, results, etc.
- Knowledge of organizational methods and the ability to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.
- Ability to comply with work-related deadlines.
- Ability to operate all necessary office equipment required to accomplish job duties. Ability to work daily and extended hours as necessary.
- Ability to assist with special or ongoing projects as instructed by senior management.
- Ability to travel up to 30% with most travel in the domestic U.S. and some potential for international travel.
- Ability to promote teamwork amongst the sales group and with other PHB departments.
