Sunshine Farms is a local cannabis manufacturer based in Vancouver, Washington. We are seeking a professional, passionate, and innovative Cultivation Assistant with a commitment to operate at the highest level, utilizing industry-leading advanced technology and cultivation methodology.
This entry-level Cultivation Assistant will work under the general supervision of the Head Grower.
Working Environment & Conditions:
The environment is physically demanding and requires prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, lifting, and lying on plant tables to do plant work. Team members will regularly work in warm and humid conditions, with temperatures ranging from 75°F to 85°F and elevated humidity levels to support plant growth. Personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required depending on the task.

Responsibilities:
- Support all stages of plant growth.
- Must be proficient with the identification of nutrient deficiency and pest problems
- Consistently perform daily work in assigned cultivation rooms such as pruning, plant training, crop steering, PPFD management, preventative maintenance, and cleaning of cultivation rooms/work areas. Cleanliness and organization are imperative.
- Learn and use applicable trade tools such as light analytical tools, moisture detectors, air quality sensors, plant manicuring tools
- Breakdown, clean and reload grow rooms post-harvest.
- Complete assigned duties within the established time frame.
- Provide input on how to further improve processes and product quality with the cultivation team in a constructive manner.
Requirements:
- 1-2 years experience in a professional cultivation operation
- Weekend work may be required – Schedule may rotate with other Cultivation team members.
- Typical hours of operation: 6:30 am - 3:15 pm, but some flexibility is available. The facility is typically occupied from 6 am to 6 pm
- Ability to safely lift 50 lbs, hand, wrists, shoulder, arms, and backare used for repetitive motion.
- Must wear PPE when required (hair/beard nets, safety glasses, respirator masks, etc. as required)
- Follow GMP protocols and practice Good Agricultural Practices (GAP)
- Follows SOPs and complies with all safety regulations
- Must be comfortable working in an enclosed and secure environment (under video surveillance)
- Ability to work in warm and humid environments for extended periods of time
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with all employees in verbal and written English
- Must thrive working independently but enjoy being a part of a team
- Must be 21 years old
- Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check
- Must be legally able to work in the United States.
- Must reside locally or near Vancouver, WA
Preferred:
- Previous experience in cannabis cultivation
- Knowledge and familiarity with hydroponically grown Cannabis
Education:
- High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) required.
Compensation:
- $18.00 per hour
