What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bilingual Laundromat Attendant (English/Spanish) – Part-Time position at Prolaundry Corporation?
We're hiring dependable, bilingual Laundromat Attendants to keep our Temple Hills store running smoothly from open to close. You'll help English- and Spanish-speaking customers, process wash-and-fold orders, and keep the store clean, safe, and welcoming through your shift. Each day has an opener and a closer, with a short overlap so the outgoing attendant can hand off open orders and store updates. The more wash-and-fold business you help us grow, the more you earn.
Pay: $15.00/hour plus commission and tips
SHIFT AVAILABLE:
Monday-Thursday 2:00pm – 10:00pm (32-33 hours per week)
ABOUT PROLAUNDRY
Prolaundry is a locally owned laundry company serving Prince George's County and the DC area. Our laundromats offer modern self-service washers and dryers, and we offer a growing wash-and-fold and pickup-and-delivery service for households and local businesses. Our stores are clean and well kept, and we treat every customer like a regular.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Greet customers in English and Spanish and help them use the washers, dryers, and payment system
- Wash, dry, and neatly fold drop-off and pickup-and-delivery orders to Prolaundry standards
- Weigh, tag, and track orders so every customer gets their own laundry back on time
- Keep the store clean through your shift: wipe down machines, clean lint traps, sweep and mop, empty trash, and restock supplies
- Watch for machine problems, report them, and post out-of-order signs when needed
- Handle customer questions and concerns with patience and professionalism
- Help prepare orders for our delivery driver
REQUIREMENTS
- REQUIRED: Bilingual in English and Spanish. You must be able to speak with customers fluently in both languages.
- Friendly and focused on customers
- Careful with details, especially when sorting, folding, and labeling orders
- Able to stand for long periods and to bend, reach, and lift laundry bags up to 40 lbs
- Comfortable using a tablet or point-of-sale system (we'll train you)
- Able to work on your own when you're the only attendant on shift
- Reliable transportation to Temple Hills, MD for early-morning and late-evening shifts
PREFERRED
- Experience in a laundromat, dry cleaner, housekeeping, hospitality, or retail
- Wash-and-fold experience
