We’re looking to employ a Communications Administrative Assistant to work on-site in the U.S. House of Representatives location in Washington, D.C. to support innovative marketing campaigns for a diverse audience. You’re the right person if you’re a proactive professional who can juggle administrative precision with a marketing mindset. You’ll work collaboratively with the Communications and Marketing team to manage campus-wide digital advertisements, track email marketing analytics to improve engagement, and ensure a professional customer service experience for all internal departments. Ideally, you possess an Associate degree (or equivalent experience), proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, and the organizational skills needed to support a mission of delivering impactful strategic communications.

Job Details:
- Location: Primarily at the client's site in Washington DC, with limited telework opportunities available.
Hours: Full-time 40 hours per week, with core business hours of 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM
- Day-to-Day: The Communications Administrative Assistant will work closely with the core Communications team to deliver a positive, empathetic, and professional customer service experience within the office. This role is critical for change and requires understanding the details of the job description and the importance of managing metrics and organizational change. The candidate will have proficient skills in Microsoft Office, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Core Responsibilities
- Maintains the weekly and monthly calendar for House intranet sliders, campus-wide digital monitor advertisements, and other campus materials.
- Develops and maintains a tracking system for email marketing analytics with the aim to improve staff engagement and identify opportunities to reevaluate marketing strategies.
- Provide customer service to CAO departments and staff reaching out through the general CAO communications email inbox.
- Analyzes incoming requests to either satisfy the request within the CAO Communications and Marketing team or determine the proper routing for the request with the aim of providing a resolution at the first point of contact.
- Maintains emergency materials and constantly updates contact information for all CAO Communications staff.
- Organizes and maintains office supplies, equipment inventory, and equipment maintenance requests within the Communications office.
- Maintains general working knowledge and understanding of CAO Communications services, practices, and procedures.
- Provides general support with/on a wide variety of administrative and customer-focused tasks, as well as other miscellaneous assignments and planning initiatives.
- Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience
- Customer service oriented
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Demonstrated success in managing multiple projects and competing priorities
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Complex problem-solving skills and strong analytical abilities
- Ability to operate effectively in a team environment and in a fast-paced environment
