About the Role
We’re building Projectz AI — the first AI-native home design and project management platform that helps homeowners design their space, organize every project detail, and seamlessly connect with trusted contractors.
Our goal: make home projects stress-free through AI.
We’re in the pre-launch phase and assembling a small, high-impact ML team to help define the intelligence layer of our platform.
We’re looking for a Machine Learning Engineer who can help build and optimize the AI systems that power design generation, recommendations, cost insights, and user personalization.
This is an opportunity to architect the ML foundation of a product that will scale to millions.
- Build and refine ML models across design generation, material recognition, recommendation systems, pricing intelligence, and user personalization.
- Work with product and engineering teams to integrate models into the application end-to-end (backend pipelines, APIs, inference optimization).
- Own data pipelines: collection, cleaning, labeling strategy, embeddings, and evaluation.
- Conduct rapid experiments, design evaluation metrics, and guide model improvements through measurable outcomes.
- Optimize inference performance for speed, accuracy, and cost, especially in mobile environments.
- Explore hybrid approaches: CV LLMs, RAG workflows, multimodal architecture, and model distillation.
- Bring new ideas to improve the homeowner project experience through AI.
- Experience with ML/AI: Python, PyTorch or TensorFlow, vector databases, embeddings, or model fine-tuning.
- Familiarity with GenAI (LLMs, CV, RAG, diffusion models) — or strong interest in learning fast.
- Understanding of data workflows, training pipelines, and evaluation methods.
- Experience deploying ML systems or integrating ML models into real-world products.
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to operate in fast, uncertain early-stage environments.
- Passion for building AI features that create real, visible user value.
