Position Summary
Projects Inc. is seeking a Quality Inspector to support inspection activities within a precision aerospace manufacturing environment.
This position is responsible for verifying product conformity through dimensional inspection, blueprint interpretation, and documentation review while ensuring compliance with customer, regulatory, and internal quality requirements.
The successful candidate understands that inspection is more than measuring parts - it is protecting the customer, preventing escapes, and ensuring product integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform first piece, in-process, and final inspections on aerospace components and assemblies.
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, GD&T requirements, and customer standards.
- Verify dimensional characteristics using precision measurement equipment.
- Complete inspection documentation accurately and thoroughly.
- Identify, document, and communicate non-conformance.
- Review manufacturing travelers, certifications, and supporting documentation for completeness and compliance.
- Support root cause investigations and corrective action activities when quality issues arise.
- Assist with containment activities related to nonconforming material.
- Maintain inspection records in accordance with company and customer requirements.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 2 years of manufacturing inspection experience.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Experience using precision measurement equipment including:
- Calipers
- Micrometers
- Height Gages
- Bore Gages
- Indicators
- Thread Gages
- Pin Gages
- Basic understanding of GD&T.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Aerospace manufacturing experience.
- AS9100 experience.
- First Article Inspection (FAI) experience.
- Knowledge of inspection sampling plans.
- Experience using CMM-generated reports.
- Familiarity with ERP and quality management systems.
- Experience with customer-specific requirements
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to perform visual inspections and use precision measuring equipment for extended periods.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment.
