Front Desk Clerk

Title:                   Front Desk Clerk Program:            St. Nicholas House Salary Range:    $18.92/hr   Program Description: St. Nicholas House is a 94-unit supportive Single Room Occupancy (SRO) building that provides permanent housing for formerly homeless and low-income men and women, including some tenants with serious and persistent mental illness; and individuals who are recovering from drug or alcohol addictions. Tenants are offered a comprehensive array of support services, including medical, employment and recreational services.   Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The essential duties of the Front Desk Clerk include but are not limited to the following activities: Front Desk Clerks are responsible for helping to establish and maintain a safe and secure environment, maintaining a clear and unobstructed building lobby. Makes safety patrols throughout the facility and documents same. Monitors CCTV system and security cameras. Observes tenant(s) and visitor(s) behavior reporting any unusual behavior to the appropriate personnel. Greet visitors and guests, announces/directs/escorts them to the appropriate location. Maintains visitor/guest log. Maintains accurate log entries and writes Incident Reports when necessary Ability to use a multi-line telephone and intercom system. Acts as Fire Guard. Provides crisis intervention in emergency and contacts appropriate personnel. Any other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or senior staff.   Qualifications: A High School Diploma or equivalent. Experience working with mentally ill and substance abusing population. Must obtain Fire Guard Certification (F-01) within 90 days of employment in this position and must keep Fire Guard (F-01) up-to-date and active while employed in this position. Ability to work multiple / varied shifts as building is a 24 hour/7 day a week facility.       All newly hired Project Renewal staff must provide verification of being fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
