Position: Mobile Community Advocate
Reports To: Community Response & Outreach Services Director
Hours: Full-time, Monday–Friday, with on-call rotation
Job Summary
The Project Safe Mobile Community advocate provides comprehensive support to survivors of domestic violence through crisis intervention, case management, housing support, and community outreach. This position blends direct services to survivors with housing coordination and community collaboration, ensuring survivors have the resources and support needed to achieve safety and stability.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct Advocacy: Provide crisis intervention, emotional support, psychoeducation, and trauma-informed case management. Maintain a caseload of survivors, documenting services and progress toward individualized goals and reducing barriers.
- Housing / Rapid Re-Housing: Provide case management for survivors enrolled in Project Safe’s Rapid Re-Housing Program, including assessing participant needs, developing individualized housing stability plans, assisting with housing searches and applications, communicating and negotiating with landlords and property managers. Provide ongoing support after placement, including regular follow-up and home visits, to promote long-term housing stability and connection to needed community resources.
- Community Outreach & Collaboration: Maintain knowledge of community resources, make appropriate referrals, and build relationships with agencies across disciplines (healthcare, law enforcement, schools, DFCS, attorneys, and others). Serve on multidisciplinary teams to strengthen community response
- Transportation & Accessibility: Meet survivors at safe locations and assist with transportation for court, services, or groups as needed.
- Program Duties: Participate in on-call rotation, mentor interns/volunteers, and maintain accurate reporting. Represent Project Safe at community events and collaborations.
Qualifications
- At least three years of experience in crisis intervention, case management, or housing support.
- Knowledge of domestic violence dynamics, trauma-informed practices, and community resources.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills.
- Valid driver’s license, insurance, and clean driving record.
- Bi-lingual: English/Spanish required.
Pay: $42,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
