As part of our creative expansion, Project S Music is seeking Freelance Photographers to join our network of collaborators on a per-project basis. This role is ideal for creative professionals who want flexible, project-driven opportunities to work with artists and bring their visual identity to life.
Position Overview
This is a freelance, per-project position; not a full-time or guaranteed ongoing role. Selected photographers will be contracted as needed for specific assignments, including artist photo sessions, live event coverage, and campaign visuals.
The Freelance Photographer will work closely with Project S Music's management, development, and creative teams to produce compelling imagery that captures the essence of each artist and project.
Responsibilities
- Capture professional photos of artists, performances, and behind-the-scenes sessions on a per-project basis.
- Collaborate with the Project S Music creative and marketing teams to execute campaign visuals.
- Edit and deliver all finalized photos within agreed timelines and brand standards.
- Participate in creative direction sessions when applicable to align visuals with the artist's image.
- Manage on-set logistics, including lighting, location setup, and shot planning.
- Submit organized, high-quality photo files along with appropriate licensing documentation.
Qualifications
- Proven photography experience (portfolio required; music or entertainment preferred).
- Proficiency in photography and editing tools such as Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop.
- Ability to adapt to different artist styles and creative directions.
- Excellent communication, professionalism, and time management.
- Access to professional camera gear and editing equipment.
- Should be based in or able to travel to the Kalamazoo area.
Preferred Skills
- Experience photographing musicians, live shows, or studio sessions.
- Understanding of social media formats and visual branding.
- Video or behind-the-scenes content capture experience (optional).
- Creative direction or visual concept development ability.
