Project Reality is an outpatient treatment program committed to the prevention and Medically Assisted Treatment (MAT) of Opiate Use Disorder for nearly 50 years. We are seeking a FT Certified Medical Assistant with Phlebotomy experience, who also has experience with or is interested in working with underserved and vulnerable populations. We have a holistic approach to substance abuse treatment, which includes primary care at our two clinics in SLC and Murray, UT.

Scheduling:
- FT Mon-Fri shifts 5:45am - 1:45pm
Responsibilities for the MA position include:
- Excellent Attendance is a MUST
- Preparing rooms for the visits, procedures and patient exams
- Obtain vital signs and gather necessary information/paperwork
- Perform point of care testing, administer vaccines and injections (Hep C, TB)
- Perform phlebotomy to obtain lab samples
- Administer breathalyzer tests
- Observe urinalysis tests and collect samples
- Utilize EMR, email, internet, telephone, copy/scan/fax
- Follow up on lab work, act as a liaison between providers and therapists
- Monitors and cleans assigned patient examination rooms, unit areas and unit equipment reporting outdated supplies, stock levels and restock set levels of items and necessary equipment repairs.
- Assists in routine clerical functions such as filing of medical information in patient’s records, appointment setting, locating and compiling department charts, obtaining medical records from other providers and entering charges for billing purposes.
- Provides assistance to multiple clinical departments including Medical Providers, Nurses, UA Lab, Support Staff and Mental Health Counselors/Therapists
- Immaculate record keeping of both paper and electronic files
- Assists with support staff roles at the front desk including checking patients in, verifying health insurance, answering phone calls, etc.
- Attend regular meetings/take minutes, including clinical staffing
- Abide by all HIPAA laws
- High level of professionalism in every interaction with patients
- Other duties as assigned by program supervisors
Qualifications Required:
- 1yr Medical Assistant experience
- 1yr experience in Behavioral Health or Medical facility
- High level of professionalism
- The ability to perform phlebotomy and administer injections required
- Basic Life Support Health Care Provider card or ability to obtain within 30 days
- High school degree
- Works well in a team w/strong organizational and communication skills
- Willingness to learn best practices of care
- Interest in working with vulnerable populations
- Basic Microsoft Office/Excel skills required. G-Suite a plus
- Project Reality is a Drug Free Workplace
- Ability to pass/maintain a BCI Clearance Check
Salary dependent on licensure and experience
