PUBLIC WORKS INSPECTOR
Project Professionals Corporation (PPC) is seeking experienced Public Works Inspectors to support our team on federal, state and municipal infrastructure projects throughout San Diego County.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Pre-Construction
· Review plans and specifications for constructability.
· Assist in developing project scoping and estimates.
Field Inspection
· Inspect every type of public work improvements, such as sidewalks, pipelines, storm drains, paving, and grading for compliance with plans, specifications, and standards.
· Verify materials and methods meet contract requirements.
· Working knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and traffic control compliance.
· Inspection and enforcement of SWPPP.
Documentation & Coordination
· Attend weekly progress meetings.
· Prepare daily inspection reports with photos and detailed field notes.
· Track quantities for pay estimates and as-builts.
· Coordinate materials testing, surveying, and design changes.
· Report issues via Notices of Correction and track punch list items.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
· Minimum of 5 years of experience preferred.
· Strong knowledge of Greenbook, Caltrans Design Standards, and San Diego Regional Standard Drawings.
· Proficient with inspection and documentation software (Procore, Bluebeam, VPM, CIPO, etc.).
· EIT or PE License will offset 3 years of experience.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
This is an hourly position; compensation is in accordance with California Prevailing Wage Rates.
