This role supports the design and development of modern interfaces used across dispatch, planning, fleet operations, customer tracking, and driver interactions.

The position follows a hybrid rotational model:

➡️ 1 week onsite with the team (collaboration, workshops, user research)

➡️ 3 weeks remote (focus time for design and development work)

This structure allows for deep collaboration during onsite weeks while enabling strong work-life balance and productivity during remote weeks.

Key Responsibilities

UX Design & Research

  • Understand workflows across transportation environments (dispatch, routing, driver management, customer service).
  • Conduct user interviews during onsite weeks with dispatchers, planners, drivers, and operations teams.
  • Convert logistics processes into simplified, intuitive user experiences.
  • Produce wireframes, prototypes, journey maps, and UX specs.
  • Identify and solve usability issues in TMS, WMS, load boards, customer portals, and internal apps.

UI Design

  • Create clean, responsive UI layouts for logistics-focused web applications.
  • Design dashboards, load screens, tracking and visibility tools, order details, and operational components.
  • Maintain brand consistency through reusable UI libraries and design systems.
  • Optimize designs for real-world transportation environments, including mobile-friendly designs for drivers.

Front-End Development

  • Convert designs into high-quality front-end code (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
  • Proficiency with an industry tool of candidate’s choice (e.g. Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch).
  • Strong understanding of layout, color theory, typography, and responsive design.
  • Experience creating wireframes, prototypes, and visual UI assets.
  • Basic understanding of frontend technologies (HTML/CSS).
  • Understanding of common javascript languages like Angular a plus.
  • Develop UI components using React, Vue, or Angular.
  • Integrate with RESTful APIs, telematics data, and TMS interfaces.
  • Ensure interfaces handle high-volume operational data efficiently.
  • Address accessibility, performance, and cross-browser compatibility.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with product managers, developers, and logistics subject matter experts.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies (remote) and in-person strategy sessions (onsite week).
  • Present design ideas and prototypes to both technical and business stakeholders.
  • Contribute to UX strategy across customer portals, internal tools, and fleet/driver apps.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 3–7 years of UI/UX and front-end development experience.
  • Proficiency with Figma, Adobe XD, or similar UX/UI tools.
  • Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and responsive design.
  • Experience with React (preferred), Vue, or Angular.
  • Understanding of UX principles, user flows, and usability testing.
  • Experience with API-driven, data-heavy applications.
  • Ability to design and develop tools used in fast-paced logistics operations.

Preferred Transportation/Logistics Experience

Experience with one or more of the following is highly valuable:

  • FTL (Full Truckload)
  • Intermodal / Drayage
  • Refrigerated / Temp-Controlled Freight

  • ELD/telematics (Samsara, Geotab, Motive, Omnitracs)
  • Understanding of quotes, tenders, dispatching, planning, and freight visibility

Work Environment & Modality

  • Hybrid rotational work model:
  • 1 week onsite at company location (collaboration, workshops, research)

  • Standard business hours with flexibility based on project needs.
  • Travel required only during onsite weeks.
