Responsibilities
- Perform meat processing using various meat cutting and slicing techniques to ensure precise portioning and presentation.
- Operate meat processing machines safely and efficiently, including grinders, slicers, and trimming tools.
- Prepare and package meats according to quality standards, ensuring proper labeling and storage.
- Conduct visual inspections for quality control, checking for freshness, appearance, and signs of spoilage or contamination.
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety sanitizing procedures and sanitation standards to prevent cross-contamination.
- Assist customers with meat selections, answer questions about cuts and preparation methods, and provide excellent customer service.
- Manage perishable goods by monitoring expiration dates, proper storage temperatures, and inventory levels to minimize waste.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food production, meat processing, or culinary environments—retail store experience is a plus.
- Strong knife skills with the ability to perform precise meat cutting and trimming techniques.
- Familiarity with food safety management practices and sanitizing procedures in a food handling environment.
- Ability to operate meat processing machines safely and efficiently.
- Basic math skills for weighing, measuring, and portioning products accurately.
