Job Description

Title: Program Director

Reports to: Vice President

Summary: The Program Director is responsible for implementation and facilitation of the program model, including the following job responsibilities, and all others as assigned by the Vice President of NY Operations:

· Directly supervises employees in the case management, intervention, resource development and operations of the ATI.

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Recruit, interview and train staff, volunteers and interns. Implement and oversee policy and procedure compliance. Evaluate staff and intern performance. Conduct written bi-weekly supervision of designated staff. Counsel, discipline and terminate staff as appropriate. Submit supervisory reports in a timely fashion. Facilitate staff program staff meetings on a regular basis.
  • Oversee overall program implementation and operations, and ensures contract compliance.
  • Assist in the preparation of the program’s budget. Manage line-item expenditures, including petty cash fund. Submit monthly budget reconciliation to Director of Finance. Enter weekly payroll.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with referral agent. Submit program reports in a timely fashion.
  • Utilize Results Based Accountability (RBA) to achieve positive program benchmarks and outcome measures, and improve program results.
  • Engages clients in program participation, using motivational enhancement strategies.
  • Deliver culturally competent services (i.e. assessments, orientation, and case management sessions). Incorporates gender-response approach to case management and delivery of services.
  • Develop individualized case plans with respect to assessment findings and court ordered mandates.
  • Prepares, plans, and facilitates individual and group training sessions with integrity and fidelity to curriculum/manual. Trained in and incorporates cognitive-behavioral approaches in the delivery of group services.
  • Able to recognize and address anti-social thinking, feeling, and acting, and to demonstrate and reinforce concrete alternatives. Predisposed to offer concrete problem solving and to engage clients in skill building.
  • Coordinates referrals to community-based services. Develops and maintains community resources for referral of educational and vocational opportunities for clients
  • Ensure security and confidentiality and uniformity of content and management of all client records. Provides timely and accurate file and database documentation.Keep records up to date at all times.
  • Remain current on research and literature of “best practices” for working with criminal justice populations.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with referral agent. Prepares court reports, monthly reports and discharge reports that are accurate and timely.
  • Work with clients to secure basic needs (i.e., medical insurance, housing, education, state assistance) and additional community support systems.
  • Advocate on behalf of clients in order to ensure quality services.
  • Monitor client behavior while holding clients accountable for their actions, including urine specimen collection and testing, adhering to chain of custody.
  • Models pro-social behaviors and serves as a role model to clients and staff. Maintains professional relationships with clients.
  • Solicit client satisfaction feedback.
  • Cross trains in all program components; provide services in the absence of other staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Qualified candidates must possess at time of hire a master’s degree plus three (3) years or bachelor’s degree plus five (5) years of experience in human services management and staff supervision. Considerable knowledge of case management, substance abuse and community resources. Experience working with trauma and women in a community a plus. Education may be substituted with experience on a year to year basis. Able to engage and develop collaboration with community agencies. Predisposed to offer concrete problem solving and to engage clients in skill building. A valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and driving record acceptable to insurance carrier required. Clear background check.

Pay: $68,000.00 per year
