project:HOMES improves the lives and living conditions of homeowners throughout Central Virginia including low income families, seniors, and disabled residents by making critical home repairs and improvements. As a temporary Cooling Assistance Program Coordinator for our Keep RVA Cool initiative, you will be responsible for the day-to-day functions of an in demand service providing emergency cooling to low-income families across the Richmond region. The position has a flexible start/end date between June 1st to August 30th, 2026, and is part-time up to 32 hours.
Tasks will include:
• Client intake and qualification including the verification of income and housing status
• Data management for all projects, including partnerships through other agencies
• Assembling window air conditioning units
• Physical installation of units with volunteers and program staff
• Manage client relations including all site visits addressing unit replacement and/or repair
• Provide support to volunteer program for wheelchair ramp installations and home repair needs
• Collaborate with Energy Conservation and Affordable Housing staff regarding administrative support and other various needs
• Perform other duties as assigned
The qualified candidate will possess:
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to lift air conditioning units (training will be provided for installation specifics)
• Strong organizational, analytical, and project management skills
• Ability to plan, schedule and execute projects
• Currently hold a valid driver’s license
• Ability to work independently at the job site and in the office
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work in and contribute to a collaborative team environment
• Proficient computer skills, including Word, Excel, and data entry
