Position Summary:
The Director of Nursing (DON) oversees all clinical operations of the home health agency, ensuring high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance, and effective staff management. Works closely with the Administrator to plan, implement, and evaluate services.
Requirements (Mandatory):
- Active RN license in Virginia
- Minimum 2 years home health experience (required)*
- At least 1 year of supervisory experience
- Knowledge of CHAP/Medicare/CMS Conditions of Participation
- CPR certification and background check
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct and supervise all clinical staff and patient care services
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and accreditation standards
- Oversee OASIS, care plans, documentation, and quality outcomes
- Coordinate patient care, referrals, and staffing
- Lead policy development, program implementation, and performance improvement (QAPI/CQI)
- Collaborate with physicians, facilities, and community partners
- Participate in budgeting, strategic planning, and agency growth
- Support hiring, training, and staff development
