We are seeking an experienced and committed Director of Training to join our dynamic and innovative organization. This position works under the direction of the Senior Director of Prevention & Early Intervention and is a member of the leadership team of Project Harmony. This position is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Training Institute and supervision of members of the Training Team, the development and administering of in-person, asynchronous or online training and oversees the electronic learning management system and e-learning platform.  


Project Harmony Training Institute is a nationally recognized training program that primarily teaches child advocacy center professionals, collaborative partners and community members trauma informed practices surrounding the response to outcries of child abuse and neglect, human trafficking, and the impacts of domestic violence on children. Annually, the Training Institute trains over 20,000 individuals in multiple states and countries.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assess agency and community training needs, and recruit, hire and supervise training staff to meet those needs.
  • Lead the development and implementation of technology to support strategies to deliver training using online formats.
  • Develop and implement fiscal strategy to increase training revenue and provide program reports reflecting attainment of training goals.
  • Guide and oversee training and prevention-related initiatives.
  • Develop, plan, and coordinate local, state, and national marketing of training and education.
  • Oversee the annual conference planning process with partner agencies.
  • Develop and deliver education and training to professionals related to child abuse and neglect.
  • Oversee data collection and analysis to evaluate training program and report results as part of continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  • Develop continuous knowledge of Child Abuse Reporting trends in Nebraska and Iowa, and maintain effective relationships with Law Enforcement, County Attorneys and Child Protective Services Hotline and Initial Assessment Units.
  • Support and encourage teamwork and collaboration between agencies and staff involved in reporting and investigation of child abuse.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Requirements

Education and Training

  • Bachelor’s degree required in social work, education, criminal justice, psychology, law, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Two to five years leadership/management experience.
  • Training or experience in adult education required.

Work Experience

  • Experience in curriculum development, teaching, or training.
  • Professional experience in child welfare and working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience with program development, fiscal management, and evaluation.


Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Knowledge of the dynamics of child abuse, and family violence, as well as understanding of the roles of law enforcement, child protection services, mental health and medical community.
  • Excellent active listening, presentation, verbal and written communication skills.
  • High level of initiative and energy.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • High level of professionalism.
  • Strong organizational, decision-making and time management skills.
  • Must be a self-starter and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to resolve conflicts.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite, as well as other software and databases. 
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems, and virtual training platforms.
  • Must respect and maintain confidentiality.


Other

  • Must be willing to work flexible hours.
  • Must submit to a thorough criminal history background check.
  • Must have access to a vehicle, possess a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
  • Position involves some travel, primarily within the state.
