Warehouse Order Fulfillment Associate

About the Role
Project Genius is a toy and puzzle wholesaler and direct-to-consumer brand. We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Warehouse Order Fulfillment Lead to pick, pack, and ship customer and retail orders accurately and on time. This is a hands-on role central to keeping our fulfillment operation running smoothly. Beyond order fulfillment, the position includes price labeling of product and, when order volume calls for it, directing a small crew of temporary workers to keep the floor productive.
Key Responsibilities
• Pick items from inventory accurately against sales orders and pack them securely for shipment.
• Prepare and process outbound shipments, including carrier labels and packing slips (e.g., UPS ground and small parcel).
• Apply price labels and retailer-specific labeling to product per customer and compliance requirements.
• Use handheld scanners and warehouse/inventory systems to locate items and confirm order accuracy.
• Stage and organize outgoing orders; keep the pick, pack, and shipping areas clean, orderly, and safe.
• Assist with receiving, restocking, and cycle counts as needed.
• Direct and supervise temporary labor during high-volume periods—assigning tasks, setting the pace, checking quality, and ensuring safe work practices.
• Flag inventory discrepancies, damaged product, and shipping issues to the manager promptly.
Qualifications
• Previous warehouse, fulfillment, or shipping experience required.
• Current forklift certification required.
• Comfortable learning new software and adopting new tools quickly.
• Skilled at identifying and implementing more efficient processes.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy, especially with order picking and labeling.
• Comfortable using scanners, computers, and basic warehouse software.
• Ability to stay organized and productive under time pressure and changing order volume.
• Dependable, punctual, and a team player able to guide others when needed.
• Basic math and literacy skills sufficient for order and inventory work.
Physical Requirements
• Able to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods throughout a shift.
• Able to lift and move packages up to 50 lbs, with proper lifting technique or equipment assistance.
• Comfortable working in a warehouse environment.
