Independent Living Skills Trainer (ILST) – Acquired Brain Injury Program
Location: Windham/Willimantic, CT areas
Pay: $18/hour

We're looking for compassionate and reliable Independent Living Skills Trainers (ILST) to join our Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) team in Plainfield, CT. You'll work one-on-one with individuals, helping them rebuild life skills, gain confidence, and live more independently — all while being part of a mission-driven nonprofit that truly values its team.
What You'll Do
As an ILST, you'll:
- Support individuals in developing independent living skills such as daily routines, budgeting, cooking, and communication.
- Provide non-medical care, supervision, and socialization based on each client's personalized service plan.
Encourage, guide, and celebrate progress — big and small
Be a positive, steady presence as your clients build stronger, more fulfilling lives.
What You'll Need
- Be at least 18 years old
- High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree preferred but not required)
- Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, proof of insurance, and good driving record
- Verifiable Experience with Acquired Brain Injury (ABI):
- 2 years with a high school diploma or equivalent, OR
1 year with a bachelor's degree
Schedules Available
Choose a shift that fits your life
- 1st Shift (Part-Time): 7am to 5pm
