Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Community Outreach Coordinator to join our team at a company providing medically tailored meals and groceries to individuals facing food insecurity and chronic health conditions. The candidate must currently reside in the Hudson Valley region of New York (Westchester, Rockland, Orange, Dutchess, Ulster, and Putnam Counties). This role combines strategic outreach planning with direct community engagement, including event coordination and grassroots canvassing. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, a deep understanding of community outreach, and a commitment to improving health outcomes through nutrition.
Duties
- Develop and implement outreach strategies to increase awareness and enrollment in our services.
- Identify, plan, and attend community events, health fairs, and conferences to represent the organization and promote our mission.
- Create and distribute marketing materials (brochures, flyers, social media content) to support outreach efforts.
- Organize and facilitate community events, workshops, and seminars to promote health education, addiction recovery, and social services.
- Train and conduct grassroots outreach and raise awareness of food as medicine solutions.
- Track and evaluate outreach efforts, including maintaining outreach logs, referral tracking, event calendars, and outcome reports.
- Lead public speaking engagements to represent the organization at community meetings, conferences, and events.
- Coordinate marketing efforts utilizing social media management and other channels to maximize outreach impact.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including client services, culinary, and other outreach coordinators to ensure services align with community needs.
- Build partnerships with local organizations and agencies to expand program reach.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current on best practices in outreach and nutrition-focused health equity.
- Maintain administrative records related to outreach activities, volunteer management, and program evaluation.
Qualifications:
- · Bachelor’s degree in public health, marketing, communications, community outreach, or a related field (preferred); high school diploma or GED required.
- · 1–2 years of experience in community outreach, customer service, or event coordination.·
- Must reside in Hudson Valley
- Ability to travel across NY State, the Hudson Valley, and the Eastern Region as needed.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with diverse community members.
- Proficiency in marketing strategies, including social media management and digital outreach tools.
- Proven ability to develop and execute outreach strategies and track results.
- Knowledge of health disparities and social determinants of health, especially related to nutrition and food insecurity.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities with experience in supervising staff
- Passion for improving health outcomes through medically tailored meals.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in administrative tasks.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Strong understanding of New York’s health and social care landscape.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Preferred: Bilingual in Spanish and English.
- Proficiency in CRM systems and social network platforms is a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
