Supply Chain & Logistics Manager

Project Canary
Hayward, CA Full Time
POSTED ON 3/5/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 5/5/2026
DescriptionAeris Technologies is a leading manufacturer of laser gas analyzers serving critical applications in environmental monitoring, industrial process control, and emissions measurement. As part of the Project Canary family since 2022, we combine innovative optical sensing technology with precision manufacturing to deliver industry-leading analytical instruments. We're currently executing a comprehensive transformation to strengthen our operational foundation and accelerate growth.  We’re building the next phase of our manufacturing engine, and supply chain is the lever. We’re hiring a Supply Chain & Logistics Manager to own the systems, partners, and operating rhythm that keep parts and finished devices moving fast and predictably.  This role will have high autonomy and high visibility across Engineering, Production, and Finance. You’ll take what’s currently a mix of tribal knowledge and heroics and turn it into repeatable, scalable workflows in NetSuite, while keeping shipping, receiving, and international logistics running smoothly. What Success Looks Like (first 6–12 months) Inventory accuracy improves (cycle counts run on cadence; discrepancies get resolved at the root cause) Fewer shortages and fewer expedites (planning supplier follow-through gets tighter) International shipping becomes predictable (docs right, fewer holds, fewer surprises) Clear metrics exist and get used (inventory turns, OTIF, lead times, supplier performance) NetSuite data gets cleaner (item master/BOM governance and transaction discipline) Supply chain costs become more planned and controlled (fewer “only option is expedited” moments) Key ResponsibilitiesInventory & NetSuite Governance Build and run a cycle count program (cadence, process, training, reconciliation) and drive root-cause corrective actions Own inventory accuracy across raw materials, WIP, and finished goods; set targets and make progress visible Create and maintain inventory segmentation (ABC, consumption patterns) and stocking policies (min/max, reorder points) Own item master and BOM accuracy in NetSuite; partner with Engineering and Production to keep data clean through ECOs and build changes Establish and maintain SOPs for inventory transactions and controls (receiving, issuing, adjustments, transfers)  Planning, Purchasing & Supplier Performance Turn demand signals (sales pipeline customer commitments production plan) into a practical supply plan Own MRP inputs/parameters and material readiness to reduce shortages and last-minute expedites Own the PO lifecycle end-to-end (create, confirm, follow up, receive/reconcile in NetSuite; support invoice matching as needed) Manage supplier relationships for optical components, electronics, and mechanical parts Negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms; define supplier KPIs; run regular business reviews Build supply continuity plans for critical parts (alternates, second sources, buffering strategy, escalation playbooks)  Cost & Budget Ownership (Supply Chain Logistics) Own the supply chain and logistics budget for your scope (materials planning inputs, freight/3PL spend, duties/fees where applicable, and expedite spend) in partnership with Finance Build and maintain a cost forecast and monthly variance view (actuals vs plan) and recommend corrective actions Set guardrails for expedites (what triggers an expedite, who approves, and how it’s tracked) and drive reduction through better planning and supplier management Identify and execute cost-reduction opportunities (lane optimization, packaging improvements, MOQ/price breaks, supplier consolidation where appropriate) without creating downstream risk  Logistics (Domestic International)  Own logistics operations and partner performance (3PLs, freight forwarders, customs brokers) Define shipping lanes and service levels; reduce cost and lead time while protecting customer delivery performance Own international shipment documentation workflows (commercial invoices, broker handoffs, Incoterms alignment, tracking, and exception resolution) Own lithium-ion shipment compliance workflows (carrier requirements, packaging/labeling standards, documentation readiness) in partnership with Quality/EHS as needed Create SOPs and training so shipping/receiving is consistent and audit-ready Execute hands-on shipping and receiving as needed (~20%): pack/label shipments, receive and stage material, and complete transactions in NetSuite  Reporting & Continuous Improvement Build dashboards and weekly/monthly operating metrics (inventory accuracy, turns, OTIF/fill rate, lead times, supplier performance, expedite trends, freight/expedite spend vs plan) Drive continuous improvement to reduce operational friction   Cross-Functional Collaboration Engineering: NPI ECOs, lead-time planning, alternates, cost optimization, supply readiness Production: material availability aligned to schedule; shortage prevention Finance: inventory valuation inputs, working capital, cost analysis, budgeting/forecasting Quality: supplier quality issues and corrective actions Skills, Knowledge and Expertise3 years progressive supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment Strength in at least two of: inventory governance, planning/MRP, procurement, supplier management, global logistics Experience managing international shipments and external logistics partners (3PL/forwarders/brokers) Dangerous Goods Certified: Experience shipping lithium-ion batteries (or similar regulated goods) and running compliant processes Advanced ERP proficiency; NetSuite strongly preferred (inventory, purchasing, item master/BOM governance) Demonstrated experience owning or managing to a budget; comfortable forecasting, explaining variances, and driving cost control Strong judgment, prioritization, and ability to drive outcomes cross-functionally without direct authority Working knowledge of mechanical, electronic, and/or optical components and general instrumentation familiarity BenefitsSalary range: $85,000 - $100,000 annual baseHayward, California officeHealth, dental, and vision insurance with low deductibles and premiums paid by company 99% for self and 50% for dependents and/or spouse401K with company match (no vesting period)Opportunity for equity ownershipStudent loan assistanceGenerous culture around time off, including: Unlimited PTO6 days of sick time per year 11 paid company holidays per year up to 12 weeks of fully paid parental leave (gender neutral) including adoptions
