Role Description
This is a full-time role for a Show Systems Technical Director, based in Orlando, FL, with project travel and flexibility to work remotely on occasion. The Technical Director will oversee the design, integration, and implementation of audio, video, lighting, and control systems for entertainment and performance projects. Responsibilities include managing teams and external vendors, driving project schedules and budgets, overseeing the execution and implementation of technical designs, and interfacing with owner-operators and stakeholders.
The Technical Director is position is distinct from the Project Manager as the primary concern is the technical feasibility and overall architecture of solutions and to act as a leading Subject Matter Expert for the duration of a project.
The Technical Director is an ambassador of the company and may be placed in a position to represent a client or an owner-operator; professional polish is key.
Qualifications
- 3 projects of experience in the entertainment, attractions, or AV industry is a basic requirement
- Demonstrated proficiency in hands-on implementation of professional audio and/or video systems
- Lighting system integration is a plus
- Team Management and Team Leadership experience with the ability to mentor and guide teams effectively
- Experience in planning, coordinating, and executing projects within defined timelines and budget
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical or engineering field preferred
