Position Summary :
Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for preparing information and analysis, primarily financial in nature, about all financial activities of the New York Proton Center (“NYPC”) and New York Proton Management (“NYPM”) that will assist management, senior leadership and other users in making financial decisions. The Senior Financial Analyst will support financial decisions by recommending, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures and handling coordination of general ledger activities. Additional responsibilities include preparing and reviewing internal financial statements, recording and monitoring revenue and expenses within NYPC and NYPM, assisting in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and related analysis of such financial results.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Coordinate day-to-day accounting operations of the organization(s) in accordance with proper accounting methods, including the posting of journal entries and various account reconciliations.
- Prepare various financial statements and other reports to be used by senior management for analyzing financial information.
- Assist with the analysis and recording of all revenue for the Center, working closely with the Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis as needed.
- Prepare biweekly and monthly variance reports as needed in accordance with established procedures and criteria and monitor / analyze financial data and related KPIs.
- Coordinate the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting packages for partner hospitals, lenders, board of directors, and key stakeholders.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of all policies and procedures as they relate to the finance division.
- Assist the Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis with the preparation of the annual operating and capital budgets, providing details and analysis on actual revenue and expenditures as needed.
- Provide recommendations on process improvement to financial operations as well as recommendations on revenue maximization and expense management as necessary.
- Assist in determining ROI on investment decisions as needed.
- Assist in managing and reporting company liquidity.
- Assist with management and tracking of physical assets and future capital purchases.
- Coordinate with treasury department for bank account activity.
- Coordinate annual financial audits with external auditors.
- Coordinate tax planning and compliance with all required federal, state, local, payroll, property and other applicable taxes in conjunction with external tax accountants.
- Assist the Director of Finance and / or CFO on special projects as needed.
- Comply with all New York Proton Center policies related to Privacy Rules established under the Health Information Privacy and Portability Act of 1996 (HIPAA).
- Perform other job-related duties, as assigned.
