Duties
- Greet patients warmly, verify insurance information, and assist with patient registration and check-in processes
- Schedule appointments, follow-up visits, and coordinate patient flow efficiently
- Collect and record vital signs, medical histories, and current medications accurately using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
- Support clinical staff by preparing treatment rooms, assisting with basic procedures, and maintaining cleanliness standards
- Manage phone calls, answer patient inquiries professionally, and provide clear instructions for appointments or follow-up care
- Assist with documentation including ICD (International Classification of Diseases) coding, medical terminology entry, and chart management
- Support administrative functions such as billing, insurance verification, and inventory management of supplies
Requirements
- Prior experience in a healthcare setting such as hospital medicine, outpatient clinics, or emergency medicine is highly desirable
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and basic life support (BLS) certification preferred
- Experience working with EHR systems and familiarity with ICD coding is a plus
- Strong patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately
- Ability to perform vital signs measurement, intake procedures, and basic medication administration when needed
- Previous hospital experience or inpatient/outpatient clinic experience in settings like Geriatrics or Medical-surgical units is advantageous
- Demonstrated ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
