Referral Liaison

We are looking for a Referral Liaison to join our team! This person will be responsible for identifying and contacting new patient referrals and scheduling initial appointments for our outpatient clinic. This is a full-time, in-office position with a weekday, day-shift schedule. This is also a wonderful opportunity to expand your knowledge and gain experience in the healthcare industry. What will you be doing in this role?

• Processing and distributing incoming appointment referrals
• Coordinating with patient to schedule initial appointment within 48 hours of receiving referral
• Will be documenting all contact attempt and any lost referrals
• Follow protocol to make the minimum number of contact attempts for referrals not yet scheduled
• Schedule walk-up evaluations referred directly by neighboring physicians
• Entering scheduled appointments in patient electronic medical records (EMR) and attaching the referral for the Patient Experience Specialist to review
• Answering telephone and returning voicemails in a timely and professional manner
• Other duties and special projects as assigned

Our ideal candidate would:

• Have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Have at least 1 year of related experience or training is preferred
• Have previous experience in a customer service or clerical role
• Display a high degree of professionalism in both written and verbal communication
• Have the ability to work both independently and in a team environment, without constant supervision
• Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize tasks
• Demonstrate strong detail orientation with the ability to adapt to change
• Demonstrate strong follow-up and follow-through skills
• Be able to maintain confidentiality
• Have strong computer skills, including proficiency with databases and with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
