Technical Writer | Utility & Infrastructure Projects
We are seeking a Technical Writer to support major utility capital projects, including transmission, distribution, substation, generation, and grid modernization initiatives. This role will partner with project managers, engineers, construction managers, project controls teams, and executive stakeholders to develop, maintain, and improve project documentation, procedures, reports, presentations, and communication materials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain technical documentation, policies, procedures, manuals, reports, and presentations
- Support PMO and project controls processes, governance requirements, and documentation standards
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather and translate complex technical information into clear, user-friendly documentation
- Manage document control, versioning, and knowledge management practices
- Develop spreadsheets and reports to support project tracking, analysis, and executive reporting
Qualifications:
- 3-7 years of technical writing, project documentation, project controls, PMO, or document control experience
- Experience supporting engineering, construction, capital projects, or utility operations
- Strong technical writing, editing, and document management skills
- Familiarity with utility infrastructure projects, including transmission, distribution, substations, or generation, is highly preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, Teams, and project management tools such as Primavera P6, Oracle Unifier, Maximo, or Power BI
Ideal candidates will have experience supporting utility, energy, engineering, construction, or other regulated industry projects and excel at transforming complex technical information into clear, accurate, and professional documentation.
Technical writing, project documentation, document control, PMO support, project controls, utility operations, transmission & distribution systems, substation projects, capital project delivery, process improvement, SharePoint, Primavera P6, Oracle Unifier, Maximo, Power BI, and advanced Microsoft Office Suite proficiency.
