What are the responsibilities and job description for the Owners Engineer position at Progressive?
We're seeking a senior-level Electrical Engineer with proven expertise in undergrounding transmission lines to support critical infrastructure projects.
- Conduct weekly or biweekly site walks across regions from Fresno to Humboldt.
- Manage 10-15 underground transmission projects simultaneously.
- Review and stamp contractor drawings, ensuring compliance with standards.
- Perform peer reviews and document sign-offs.
- Collaborate closely with civil engineers, soils specialists, and ancillary teams.
- Utilize essential tools: SAP, PLS-CADD, CAD.
- Apply underground-specific tools: CYMCAP (ductwork/capacity loading), Cable Pulling Tension software, and AutoCAD.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Extensive experience in Transmission Undergrounding (high-voltage systems).
- Familiarity with CYMCAP, cable tension calculations, and underground design standards.
- PE license preferred but not required.
