What are the responsibilities and job description for the AutoCAD Designer position at Progressive?
AutoCAD Designer II & III
- Designer II: 3 years of design experience
- Designer III: 5 years of design experience
- 1 year of substation or utility experience preferred Strong AutoCAD knowledge and abilities.
- General understanding of electrical, mechanical, and civil design concepts. Competency in applying technical concepts, standards, processes, and procedures. Ability to think analytically and solve technical problems.
- Knowledge of applicable regulations, related codes, and standards. Knowledge of company design and operating standards.
- Ability to work independently with minimal guidance but knows when to get others involved. Experience with interpreting technical drawings (i.e. onelines, outline diagrams) is a plus.
- Ability to work well with others.
- Skills: Strong math skills including geometry and trigonometry required to perform complex calculations. Effective oral, interpersonal, and written communication skills (including technical writing).
Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education: Associates Degree
