We are looking for an experienced Aftermarket Parts & Service Specialist to join our team. This is a hands-on, cross-functional position that works closely with both our Parts Department and Service Department.

Position Overview

The Aftermarket Parts & Service Specialist will support the day-to-day operations of both the Parts and Service Departments. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in an equipment or automobile dealership, preferably with experience in parts, service writing, service department operations, or a combination of these areas.

This position is subordinate to and works under the direction of the Parts Manager and Service Manager, while developing a strong working knowledge of both departments and their processes.

The successful candidate will be expected to participate in the daily activities of both departments and develop the ability to step in and effectively perform the essential functions of either department when needed.

Primary Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Support the Parts Manager and Service Manager in the daily operation of their respective departments.
• Assist customers with parts, service, maintenance, and equipment-related needs.
• Assist with parts identification, pricing, ordering, receiving, stocking, and sales.
• Assist service customers with scheduling, service requests, estimates, work orders, and follow-up.
• Write and maintain service repair orders and ensure information is accurately documented.
• Communicate effectively with technicians, parts personnel, customers, and management.
• Coordinate parts requirements for service jobs and help ensure technicians have the parts they need.
• Assist with obtaining special-order and aftermarket parts from vendors and manufacturers.
• Help monitor parts availability, backorders, returns, and warranty-related items.
• Assist with service scheduling and coordination of customer equipment.
• Maintain accurate records and follow established dealership procedures and system processes.
• Learn and follow the operating procedures, computer systems, and workflow processes of both the Parts and Service Departments.
• Participate in daily department activities and assist wherever needed to keep operations running efficiently.
• Provide backup coverage for the Parts Department and Service Department when the Parts Manager or Service Manager is unavailable.
• Develop sufficient knowledge and understanding to step into either department and maintain normal operations when necessary.
• Assist with maintaining an organized, professional, and customer-friendly parts and service area.
• Perform other aftermarket-related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience in a dealership environment, preferably an agricultural, farm equipment, outdoor power equipment, construction equipment, automotive, or similar dealership.
• Experience in aftermarket parts, parts sales, service writing, service advising, or service department operations.
• A working knowledge of both parts and service operations.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• The ability to understand parts catalogs, equipment diagrams, and parts identification systems.
• Familiarity with dealership management software and computer systems.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• The ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a busy dealership environment.
• The ability to work independently while also functioning as part of a team.
• A willingness to learn and understand all aspects of the dealership's aftermarket operation.
• A positive, dependable, and professional attitude.
• The ability to work effectively with customers, technicians, vendors, and management.

The Right Candidate

We are looking for someone who is more than just a parts salesperson or service writer. The ideal candidate is a well-rounded dealership professional who understands how Parts and Service work together and can contribute wherever needed.

Someone who has experience in both departments—or has the ability and desire to learn both—is highly desirable.

This position would be particularly well suited for an experienced Parts Specialist, Service Writer, Service Advisor, Parts & Service Coordinator, or dealership employee who is looking for a broader role and an opportunity to become an important part of a small, growing business.
